Sound output issue / Numark turntable and mixer

Hello everyone,

I don't really know if you can help me given that I have little experience in this matter, but I'm giving it a try anyway, and I'll do my best to explain the problem I'm facing.

A few months ago, I bought a second-hand Numark TT200 turntable and a small mixer (also Numark).

When I try to play a vinyl, most of the time there is no sound at all (there's just a hissing noise coming from the speakers, and to be honest, you can barely hear the sound of the vinyl, but very faintly).
The only way I've found to make it work is to fiddle with the grounding cable connected to the mixer.
After several loud crackles, it usually ends up working. But as soon as I turn it off and on again, or even if I just change vinyls or sides, it generally goes back to the same issue, no sound comes out.

I honestly have no idea where this could be coming from... The turntable? The cartridge? The mixer? Maybe the cables?
I really have no clue. But since it eventually works after some fiddling, I think it might be a problem that could be solved?

Does anyone have any idea? I can provide more information if needed.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks

Good evening,
In principle, these turntables output in phono (it's essential to connect them to a phono input or to buy a correct RIAA preamp) or in RCA (line output with a built-in preamp in the turntable); check that the switch at the back of the turntable is set to "RCA LINE" and not "RCA Phono."

My turntable is connected to my mixer via RCA.
My mixer is connected to my external sound card (Focusrite 2i2) also via RCA.
The sound card is connected to my computer via USB.
Is there a mistake somewhere?
I don't know the difference between RCA LINE and PHONO, I need to do some research.

RCA LINE = output that can be connected to any RCA input of an amplifier, mixing table, etc.
RCA PHONO = "raw from the cartridge" output that must be connected to a "phono" input of an amplifier or table because it is not pre-amplified and corrected; if connected to a standard RCA input, the sound is very weak and very sharp.
In the vinyl days, all turntables had a phono output because amplifiers at the time all had a phono input.
Nowadays, amplifiers are starting to have a phono input, and modern turntables often have dual phono and line outputs, like the Numark with RCA LINE or RCA PHONO switch, so check at the back of yours:

But not all of them have this option, so if there is no LINE output, use a separate RIAA correction preamp:
