Photo export failed :(

Hello,

I can no longer export photos from iPhoto to my desktop.
First, I get a message: "An Internet connection is required to download a larger version of these items for export," even though I'm connected to Wi-Fi, then "unable to load the image (1019)."

Thank you
Lolo

He says it’s been since iPhoto.

Hello,

I think our friend Lolochab has probably:
- activated Apple's iCloud solution
- chosen the option to store a reduced version of his photos locally on his hard drive to save disk space
- then, for some reason I don't know, disabled Apple's iCloud solution

So, when he wants to drag a photo to his Mac desktop, iPhoto (or Photos) wants to retrieve the original image and unfortunately, the Apple's iCloud storage solution is no longer valid, and he receives the message informing him that an internet connection is required and the famous error message no. 1019 saying "unable to load the image".

What to do?

There are two things to do:
1- reactivate Apple's iCloud solution WITH the option to store photos in original quality on the local disk.

2- once the photos in original quality are back on the local disk, then iCloud can be disabled.

Thank you Ritchi, I specifically wanted to avoid having to store the photos on my hard drive and so far it was working - When I wanted to retrieve a photo from iPhoto, I had it in low resolution, I clicked on Export and iPhoto would download it from iCloud (Storage Optimization option) - I have a good internet connection, I don’t understand why it’s not working anymore...?
Since then, I have chosen the option to download the photos to my hard drive so that I can access them, but it’s a shame because it takes up a lot of space...

Hello,
Drag the photo to the desktop, it will open in Preview when you click on it from iPhoto.
You can create a folder on the desktop to store the photos if there are many to avoid cluttering your screen.

Thank you, but it doesn't work either...

It seemed too easy to me.
There may be a locking of the desktop to prevent accidental deletion of icons.
Maybe in "Finder": files: get info, there's a "lock" box.
For me, it's not checked and I can drag my images.
We'll see if that works, but then I'm not knowledgeable enough for further explanations and surely someone will have the key to the problem.
Best regards

Hello,

The error message "
An internet connection is required...
" leads me to think that your photos are not on the Mac but on an external storage like Apple's iCloud or something else.
If that's the case, do you still have access to that "Cloud"?
