Hello,

I would like to know the power consumption of a DDR3 SO DIMM 1600MHz (PC12800) RAM stick because the battery life of my laptop isn't great, and I'm considering adding one.

Thank you for your responses,

JR

Good evening!

Nothing at all. It's negligible compared to the processor, the motherboard, the Wi-Fi card, and the screen (especially the screen in the end).

Can we say that its consumption is less than 1W? I use the BatteryCare software which gives me the overall consumption level in real time, which is on average 10W, and I really want to limit that.

The software is in deep trouble. Like, really a lot.
The processor alone can consume 10W in idle states.
But if you add the screen, peripherals... it adds up. And the memory sticks are definitely not the biggest power consumers in the story. I can even go so far as to say that a mouse or a USB 2.0 flash drive consumes as much, if not more, than a memory stick.
I stand by my point, it's negligible.
