Problem with WORD PAD

Good evening,
--I had the WORD application from the Windows 7 version that I used without any problems for writing and printing my letters, but since a Windows update, Windows 7 has been removed and
replaced by Word Pad. When I wanted to make my letter, I found myself on a page
filled with words and letters in English all over the page. To write my letter, I had to erase everything (I do not speak English) to be able to write my letter. Unfortunately, I could not print this letter because I was told "incompatibility" error with Event Viewer ??
which I used for printing without knowing what it meant. I had to call
Microsoft Support who was able to print my letter by intervening remotely on my computer, but I do not know the manipulation that was done to achieve the result.
To avoid encountering this problem with a future letter, I would like to download Word for Windows 7 again, but where to get the software and not risk having issues with
Windows 10?? I ask for your help because I am not very computer savvy.
Thank you in advance.

Thank you very much, have a nice end of the day

Hello Andralin,

Even if you think so, your Word software has not been deleted, as a
Windows 7 update does not remove application software! But perhaps your Word was deleted by an accidental action or something else?

So the first thing: check that Word is indeed installed on your PC; to do this,
press < Windows >< e > => Explorer window; go to this folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11

OFFICE11 is for Office 2003
Office12 is for Office 2007
Office14 is for Office 2010

So choose the Office1X folder you see.

In this folder, set the view to medium icons (unless you have already done so),
and see if you can find WINWORD (with a blue W icon).

1) If yes: right-click on it, and choose from the context menu:
Send to / Desktop (create a shortcut); close the window then
go to the Windows Desktop; double-click on your shortcut:
your Word software should launch. You still need to correct the file association
so that your Word documents *.docx (or *.doc) are
associated with your Word software and not with wordpad.exe!

2) If no: then you indeed no longer have this program, and you need to
reinstall it; for that, go to Control Panel, then
click on “Programs and Features” => window of the
list of programs installed on your PC; choose the line that
starts with “Microsoft Office…”, then click on the button
“Modify” or “Modify / Repair”; choose the Modify
option to add the Word component.

If your problem is resolved, please go to
the top of the page and click on “Mark as resolved”.

Best regards. 😊
