Hello, as mentioned in the title, for the past few days, my computer running Windows 8.1 keeps displaying the following message:
"NvBackend.exe - Incorrect Image
C:\Users\MySessionName\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\NvBackend\ApplicationOntology\Ontology.dll is not designed to run under Windows or it contains an error. Install the program using the original installation media, or contact your system administrator or software vendor for support. Error status: 0xc000012f."
I've searched everywhere but found nothing, and I've also done cleanups with software like ADWcleaner and Ccleaner. If anyone knowledgeable or who has had this issue and resolved it could help me, that would be nice :/
Some details about my configuration:
OS: Windows 8.1 (64 bits)
Processor: Intel Core i5-4210U CPU @ 1.70GHz
Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics Family (integrated with the processor) and NVIDIA GeForce 840M (dedicated graphics card)

Not being on Windows, I'm not too familiar with GForce drivers.
But you can restart the installation of the drivers.
Choose custom and check the option that says "Perform a clean installation".
I think you should also uncheck GForce Experience.
That Ontology thing is probably useless... it must be an app or game promoted with the drivers.

When the message appeared, my first reflex was to update the graphics card drivers but that didn't change anything.

Hello,
The error indicates that the file is corrupted.
Did you change anything with Nvidia?
Reinstall the Nvidia drivers/software.
