Hello,

on the following link: https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-37641547-choisir-le-meilleur-canal-wifi, it explains how to adjust the Wi-Fi channel used by the computer.
I would like to know how to proceed under Windows 10.

Thank you.

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 53.0.2785.143

Hello.

In essence, in the same way: however, it is imperative that the channel is also modified on the box... otherwise, the computer will try to connect to a channel that is not recognized.

Finally, if the modification is made on the box side... there is no need to alter it on the computer side, at the risk of being bothered when trying to connect to a WiFi network that does not use the same channel as the one manually forced.

Thank you for your reply.

The problem is that when I go into the advanced settings of my Wi-Fi, I have the following options: https://www.zupimages.net/, I do not have "Channel number" to change it.

You told me that if the change is made on the router, there is no need to modify it on the computer, but yesterday on my router I switched to channel 11 and my computer is still on channel 6. Won't that cause a problem?

Thank you.

Where do you see that the computer is on "channel 6"? :-)

If you are receiving on a specific frequency... you will only pick up on the concerned frequency. Not on the other frequencies... if the computer was on 6, you would only receive connections broadcasting on channel 6.

I see it in the WiFi properties:

https://www.zupimages.net/

I was previously on channel 6 but I encountered a speed error that prevented me from receiving TV on the Freebox, so I switched to channel 11 which solved my TV problem, but on the computer, I still seem to be on channel 6.

Hm. Is your TV connected to Wi-Fi?

When you say TV, are you referring to a decoder or a smart TV?

If it is not connected to Wi-Fi... changing the channel shouldn’t change anything for it.

In this case, your card receives its signal on channel 6 I would say. After you "changed" the channel, did you restart the box so that the settings could be properly applied, or did you reconnect the computer?

It is a box, it is connected via Wi-Fi.

Indeed, I did restart the box after changing the settings.
