Hello,
Following a minor fall of my computer, the screen was damaged. Indeed, colored bars occasionally appeared on the right side of the screen. I then bought a screen with the correct specifications. Once this screen was installed, it was very dark, and we could hardly make out the display. Thinking that the screen was defective, we wanted to put the old one back... And to our surprise, the same problem occurred, very dark screen even though it had worked perfectly before except for the colored bar issue... Could this problem come from the cable, damaged during the screen replacement? Thank you for your help, I am a student and cannot afford to buy a new one at the moment...
PS: when connecting the laptop via HDMI, everything displays perfectly on the external screen.

Hello,
You raise a question that deserves reflection!
"Could this problem come from the ribbon cable, damaged during the panel change?"
It is clear that if this ribbon cable is not in good condition, whether you install a new panel or reinstall the old one, the display is likely to fall short of what you can expect!
Moreover, you specify that once connected via HDMI, the display is flawless, which means that the graphical part of the motherboard is not the issue.
In my opinion, but this is just a suggestion, get a new ribbon cable and then correctly install the new panel.
Best regards.

I think a meticulous person will succeed.. Do you know on which site I can order a tablecloth?
Thank you in advance- Several sites can provide this service, but the important thing is to first identify the exact references of the PC, and then the ribbon cable.
You have one HERE but there are others!
Best regards.

Hello,
It's the backlight of the panel that is not working, either turned off or faulty.
Either you forgot to reconnect it, or the wires are damaged, or the tube is broken (in the case of a fluorescent light, not LED), or the inverter (high voltage converter for fluorescent tube) is faulty.
First, check that everything is properly connected everywhere and in the right direction (it's polarized).
If that doesn't help, get a quote (free if possible) to get more details; it's hard to say what's the issue without seeing the equipment.
