Repairing a laptop screen without a mounting bracket.

Hello everyone,

I recently bought a screen for my laptop online to replace the one that was cracked. So far, no problem; the screen is the same as the current one, so everything works. However, I didn't notice during my purchase that it was a screen without mounting points. I have replaced my damaged screen with the new one, but I can't screw it to the screen support like the first one. Everything works, and the screen is held in place when I put the plastic cover back on the screen, but it can be moved by hand, which is not practical. I would like to know if there are any ways to mount a screen to the screen support even if it doesn't have slots to place the existing screws from the laptop, please?

Thank you in advance for your responses, and happy new year to everyone!

    Hello,

We would need to have it in hand to see what can really be done. If the fixings do not come off the old slab, it may be possible to add shims (dense foam, rubber, etc.), use adhesive (double-sided tape, suitable glue, etc.), or even redo the fixings. Without photos and knowing what materials you have available, it's hard to say much more! Is there anyone in your circle who is used to doing DIY on computers?

    Best regards.
