MOUSE: The middle click is not working anymore

Hello, the scroll wheel on my mouse no longer opens tabs in Chrome, even though it was working yesterday evening.
I spend a large part of my day on the computer, so this shortcut is really useful to me.
I restarted the PC, but that didn’t help.
I plugged the mouse into another computer, and the same problem occurred.
I saw online that sometimes, but not often, the mouse driver gets misconfigured. (I’m not sure if that’s the issue)
Could you please help me restore this click, as I don’t know much about it and I’m not familiar with the steps to follow?

to begin with, I recommend trying another browser, so you can determine if it's an issue with the mouse or the browser.

Okay, can you try your mouse on another computer and see if the scroll wheel works?
