Logitech mouse scroll wheel issue Solved

Hello,

For a few hours now, I've been having a problem with the scroll wheel of my mouse, which is a Logitech RX250. The issue is that when I press the wheel to open links in new tabs (instead of right-clicking and selecting "open in new tab"), nothing happens. I then have to press the wheel hard for it to work, whereas before, a simple press was sufficient.

I've already looked in the Control Panel of Windows regarding the mouse settings, but I found nothing, and I also installed the driver for the mouse recommended by Logitech (I had never needed to install a driver for the mouse before), and since I installed the driver, when I click on the wheel, a magnifying glass appears.

What I would like is to be able to press the wheel with a simple press and not have to press hard on it.

It's all good, I solved it. In the driver, I just had to set the scroll wheel to Middle Button ;)  Finally, no more need to press that wheel like crazy for it to work :D

I have a Microsoft Laser Mouse 5000 (with its software installed) that should resemble yours, I think. To adjust the button functions, you need to go to the control panel and modify or adjust as you see fit (See image)

Regarding the scroll wheel, I had a problem similar to yours, and I removed the plastic "tire" surrounding the wheel because it was worn out, and since then, no issues.
Try to take a closer look.

Hi!

I had the same problem.

I almost managed to solve it with the settings of the new driver (it's the autoscroll mode), but now when I click with the wheel, the scrolling no longer works!

What should I do?!

I hadn't seen the little tab "middle button" that was hidden right in the middle of all the others ...

Hello. I know this topic is outdated, but I also have a problem in that regard. I haven't been able to solve it with what I've read on the subject. My mouse is a budget Trust model, and when I click the wheel to open a page in a new tab or to scroll through a page, nothing happens. I went into the control panel, but I didn't find anything. Hello, if you want to avoid problems, avoid Trust, Logitech is slightly more expensive, but in the long run it's worth it. Otherwise, for the settings, is your mouse wheel considered a button? Have you installed your mouse drivers?

The knob is indeed considered a button. As for the drivers, I'm not sure. But it's still strange that it stopped working overnight :/
