Hello,
I downloaded the Format Factory software a few days ago to convert mp4 videos to avi. When I start the conversion, I don't feel like I'm doing anything wrong, but once the conversion is finished, I realize that the avi file only contains the audio from the original mp4 video... Should I check or uncheck something in the options? Do I need to take any particular action?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello,
What reader are you using? Sometimes, it’s just a problem with the software that doesn’t allow you to "decrypt" the video stream, and in that case, try using VLC for example.
Otherwise, for Format Factory, despite the default settings which are usually correct, you might need to configure them "manually":
Choose DivX or XviD preferably.
After that, you can always try with another software like XMedia Recode or Video to Video Converter for example.
Best regards

However, there are two things to know:
1- If your standalone DVD player is connected via SCART, it is possible that the dimensions of the video image are causing issues.
Indeed, in this case, the resolution must not exceed that of DVD-Video, which is 720x576 in PAL. If you want the image to be in 16:9, then you need to apply the ratio of 1.778, which gives resolutions such as 720x404, 640x360, 612x288, etc.
2- On some devices, the files must not exceed a certain size, like on mine, for example, which does not recognize files larger than 1 GB.
I no longer use Format Factory, so I don't know what else to add...
Do I need to change the resolution in the FF interface (settings)?
I'll look into that, I'm stubborn and I don't give up easily, I'll keep you updated :)

Once again a huge thank you to Ziggourat for all his patience, I saw similar posts to mine dating back to 2014, and always a response from him (well done!) :)
Wishing you all the best.
