How to open a PowerPoint document in OpenOffice

Hello,
I made a presentation using PowerPoint slides; however, I'm going to present it in class and the software at my college is Open Office! Does it work anyway? If not, how can I do it?

Hello,

In principle, it works.

In case of difficulty with the college software, make sure to check the boxes [C] and [E] in:
Tools > Options > Loading and saving > Microsoft Office.

Otherwise, download Open Office or Libre Office, they are free software.

You need to try:
Once Impress is available, you click Open and select the file.
- If it’s a simple slideshow (text and photos), it should work.
- If there are effects, transitions, but especially music or video (or even macros), it probably won’t work.

In that case,
- either you download Open Office and redo your presentation with Impress,
- or you bring your laptop to college to show your work.
