Hello,
to my surprise, I noticed that there were two "new items" installed on my PC. They are "vulkaninfo" and "vulkaninfo32".
Yet, I didn't install anything during the evening.
Malwarebytes doesn't detect anything unusual.
What is the origin of this file?
I found little recent information, but they differ on the nature of these files.
It seems that it's a virus and it should be removed quickly (there are some tutorials on how to do that).

But another version states that they are files from the graphics card.
What should I do?
Thank you for your help.

It is not a virus or malware; on the contrary, VulcanRT is a new Vulkan, a low-level graphics API recently proposed by NVIDIA and AMD, which should have positive consequences for both developers, thanks to less work needed during porting, and for video game players, with an expected increase in performance and a decrease in consumption. Vulkan aims to revolutionize the mobile video game industry compared to the somewhat outdated Open GL ES.

Hi,
Don't trust all the security blogs you see,
They want you to download stuff that turns out to be paid to use.
Do you have an Intel video chipset and have you updated the drivers recently?
Maybe through Windows Update?
Could that be it?

Or

And

Right-click and check properties.
Give us the full path of the file.
Or have it scanned on Virustotal...

Hi and thank you for your reply.
I did indeed update my Intel graphics card at the beginning of the week. Maybe I hadn't noticed that Vulkan was showing up in my recently installed items earlier.
Here is the complete path: "C:\Program Files (x86)\VulkanRT\1.0.3.0\vulkaninfo32.exe"
On Virustotal, only one antivirus out of 57 detects it as a virus.
I'm reassured now!

For some time now, I've been running analyses with Microsoft's software: MRT.exe (KB890830-x64) (or 32-bit, your choice).
Every time, even when downloading it from a clean (new) PC, it finds 30 infected objects, but forgets that it promised me a report at the end of the analysis and informs me that no malware has been discovered...!!
Several times, I restarted the analyses to try to identify the flagged files by clicking "cancel" at the right moment to stop it at the right time.
For the first 10 reports, it's about "NVIDIA," and then, starting from 20, it's about "VulKanRT.exe (version 1.0.37.0)."
I went to C://ProgFilesx86/Vulkanrt/Uninstall and uninstalled it, as I'm not too fond of spies.
Since then, a new analysis and... no more reports from MRT.
I would like to point out that other tools like ZHPCleaner, Mbam, Avira, Roguekiller, and Combofix found nothing.
I will even uninstall NVIDIA GeForce Experience and will no longer do the updates.
My PC has been working very well since this maneuver.
