Format disk and reinstall Windows 8.1

Solved

Hello,

I would like to reinstall Windows 8 on my computer by removing everything that was on it.
However, when I reach the step where the partition manager appears, there are many partitions, some of which seem really important (one called MSR reserved for example)...
I was wondering if I deleted them one by one, would Windows be able to install and recreate the ones it needs?
Given that an error message appears at the bottom when I'm in the manager:
"Windows cannot be installed on drive 0, partition 1. (show details)" and when I view the details: "Windows cannot be installed to this disk space. The partition is an EFI system partition (ESP)."

Or should I use Gparted to delete everything and create a GPT partition table and a single partition?

Thank you in advance :)

I can't use the C: partition because of the error message I mentioned in my previous question. I was able to format it with Gparted but not with the Windows installer.
So I'm back to the original idea, right? It seems strange to me that Windows 8 can't be installed on a completely formatted disk.

    SOLUTION !
I used Gparted on a liveCD, I created a new GPT partition table on the hard drive and thus automatically deleted everything on the disk, I didn't recreate any partitions, I left the free space and booted from the Windows 8 DVD. Once at the installation, I selected the free space and clicked next: Everything went smoothly, my computer is as good as new

My computer: HP Pavilion 17, 64-bit UEFI

    Hello
If you have the ISO (DVD) that corresponds to the installed version, you can format and reinstall, no problem!
The manufacturer's recovery is generally a big mess full of commercial software that crashes Windows, personally, I get rid of it!
    No need for gparted?
Of course, if you’re trying to install on a partition of about 500MB, that's not going to work?
Windows will recreate the partitions for you, that's not an issue!
You boot in UEFI, delete everything, and reinstall cleanly! You will have to reinstall your programs, of course, but you'll be starting fresh!

I hadn't seen your message; I had already started the process when you sent it, but that's exactly what I did, thank you!
And indeed this time no commercial software at all (HP includes a lot of it), it's even better than I thought.

So thank you for your response, this is indeed the solution that worked :)

Very well, you'll see the difference in responsiveness :-)
No more lags, browsers not responding, blue screens
A Windows, whatever it is, installed properly, doesn't crash, or less often, than a manufacturer version!
All you have to do is update your system and you're good to go like in '40 :-)
I have no issues on my PC with this process, and I do a lot on it!!
        W8-W8.1-W10 without any problems ^^
You can even now easily set up a dual boot, W8/W10 ^^

Exactly! And on top of that, we save a lot of disk space!

    Hello
All existing partitions are useful, including one in particular that contains everything needed to reinstall W8 as it originally was!!
So for me, deleting them is a "stupid thing"..................

Shouldn't it allow a clean installation? ==> Yes, but on the C: partition, which is the default for Windows, asking you if you want to "repair" or "format and install," and warning that all data will be lost.

So you advise me to simply format the partition that corresponds to C: and reinstall on it? I'm not sure if this will solve the boot problem, but I'll give it a try.
