Hello everyone!
My problem is very simple to understand: I own an Asus ROG G741JW laptop with an Nvidia GTX 960M graphics card, an Intel Core i7-4720HQ 2.6 GHz 3.5 GHz in Turbo mode.
This is not an ultra-powerful configuration capable of running the latest games but, at least, capable of running games that are now 5 years old. I say this because I’m currently playing Assassin's Creed Revelations and the game is not at a constant 60 fps (on Ultra). There are lag periods. Even lowering the graphics doesn’t improve anything, I don’t know where the problem comes from. In terms of drivers, I was using the driver recommended for my pc (downloaded from Asus's official site), I now have the latest Nvidia driver but nothing changes. I should also note that I’ve opened the game with the correct graphics card (my pc has 2, one for gaming and one for less demanding tasks)
It’s still playable but I find it disappointing for a pc worth €1000
If you have any tips to help me solve this problem, please feel free to share ;)

Hello Thib008 ,
I understand that you say your PC can run games "quite" recently ..... it's a laptop so not made for gaming ....
But many people still play on laptops (like me sometimes) you can play .... your problem does not come from your graphics card ..... this problem comes from your processor (CPU) ....
Because a CPU has a lot ! ; a lot to do on a PC! it has to manage tens and tens of tasks at the same time per second ..... which is a lot ! Especially for a electronic chip xD .
So the tasks of your PC (driver manager, peripherals, OS and much more!) plus the video game [which requires a lot of frame and texture updates per second ...... Which is a lot ....
You can do one thing to play well, overclock ...
Overclocking is about increasing the CPU power (DO NOT PUSH IT TO THE LIMIT!!!) In short, increase the voltage, the CPU clock speed and the memory clock speed .
You take a small risk if you overclock a little but you take big risks if you greatly increase the CPU power ...
You can do it a little (almost like enabling turbo mode :) ) But tell me if you want to do it ....

No need to put off until tomorrow what you can do today

But it's still strange because Assassin's Creed isn't a super demanding game either, and on Minecraft too I can't get the game to run at 60fps with shaders, it runs at about 30/40 fps and it varies all the time, which is giving me a headache :p
2) tell me when it's done and you will have to watch a video (I'll give you the link) and with this video you will overclock your graphics card ....
3) Download SpeedFan and you will watch a video of CPU overclocking on YouTube .
After all that, your performance will be multiplied!
And you will finally be able to play smoothly and with no lag ....
So if you have a solution to improve cooling or ventilation, let me know :p
And how old is your computer?
