Good evening,
My computer is new, but it's running very slowly...
I have 4GB of RAM and a 120GB SSD (processor mentioned in the title).
According to the task manager, I'm often at 95% or even 100%!!!
I don't really understand, for a new computer, it seems inconsistent considering I only have 1-2 tabs open on Firefox and possibly Skype or a streaming site.
When I load a tab, I see that the Firefox process can jump from 10% to 50%!!! Isn't that a bit exaggerated?
Not to mention the antivirus that fluctuates between 20 and 50%
I've also noticed a process named "System and compressed memory", what is that?
Thank you in advance

Hello,
Given the model of your processor (extremely low-end and very underperforming), it's normal for everything to go haywire at the slightest action! For comparison, the processor is less powerful than those found in office laptops from 6 or 7 years ago..! So unfortunately, nothing surprising with this kind of small PCs.
Best regards,

Indeed, Avira is resource-hungry. In the free version, you might want to check out Panda Antivirus Free to see if it's better. If you're willing to pay, Nod32 is quite lightweight.
Also, have you optimized your PC?
=> uninstall unnecessary programs, prevent unnecessary programs from launching at startup?

I understand well, and I didn't start out with the idea of being able to do 3D virtualization...
But here we're talking about internet browsing, Skype, etc. Things that I can do without any problem on my smartphone, for example, so it worries me a bit.
Notably, the streaming you mentioned, it eats up... downloading + video playback
You should open your task manager and see what's "eating" up time, and when.
I am on 64 bits
Processor at 95%:
System and compressed memory at about 15%
AVIRA HOST (32bits) between 1% and 50% but on average 10%
Antivirus Host framework service 0 to 10%
If I look at a streaming site (like for TV), Firefox goes up to 50% and Firefox plugin container constantly 10%
But it varies a lot, generally Avira is always above, then Firefox, then compressed memory
Is there anything I can do to improve this?
