Hello,
I just bought a HP Pavilion laptop with Intel Core i7, running Windows 10, and it seems there is already a problem.
When trying to connect my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S6 running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop) via USB cable, nothing happens, no notification, and I can't find my phone (neither in File Explorer nor in Devices and Printers).
Strangely, my phone charges when it's connected to the PC, but it only charges; I can't access the phone's files using Windows File Explorer, so I can't transfer my documents, photos, videos, etc.
In the phone settings, the USB modem is not even activatable, it's greyed out.
In the drop-down menu, there is not even a constant notification saying that the device is connected as either a camera or a media device.
PLEASE how do I resolve this very annoying issue?
Thank you in advance :)

hello,
there is a connection issue between Samsung Galaxy smartphones and Windows 10. Here’s how to fix it (without downloading anything).
Go to the settings on your Samsung, then go to about phone (at the bottom of the list)/software information and click on build number several times. A message will appear notifying you that developer mode is enabled.
Your problem is resolved and your Samsung is visible on your PC running Windows 10.
