Listening to audio files in the media player on EDGE

Solved

Hello

I can’t read certain audio files on the “Media Player” in EDGE while others in my library work fine.

I get the message:

Sorry we can’t open XXX. This item is protected by a Digital Rights Management (DRM) system not supported

Thank you for your help

  1. Hello,

Any help, whatever it is, to bypass DRM encryption is illegal in France.

    DRM (Digital Rights Management)

DRMs, "Digital Rights Management," refer to a set of techniques designed to control the usage conditions of digital audio/video streams.

In order to protect certain contents (for example those subject to copyright, such as movies broadcast by TV channels), DRMs may be applied, preventing, for instance, their recording through PVR features.

    1. Thank you for this quick response.

I take your explanation into account and I agree with your comment. I have no intention of “hacking” a site.

As a matter of fact, my audio library consists of original CDs that I transferred. It seems that a few may come from other sources.

      I will correct this.

      Best regards

        Hello,

The original CDs, particularly those with WMA, can themselves be protected by DRM.

        Hello

Does this mean that we can have this blockage even when copying an original CD to our PC?

Is it true that this blocking message often appears on audio files in my library in WMA format?

        Hello,

Yes, if I remember correctly I went to search for the titles of some of my CDs on YouTube for this reason; recorded in mp3 format there can no longer be any DMA.
