My "num lock" key keeps turning off by itself.

Hello,
As stated in the title, when I use my PC, my Num Lock key turns off by itself. Upon startup, I already have to press it again each time (that, I could handle, as it was the case with my old PC, so why not), but sometimes, I'm in the middle of using my computer, and suddenly I realize that the number I've typed isn't showing up, and I have to press the key again. Furthermore, I don't have an indicator light for the key, so I never know if it's turned off or not.
I would like to point out that I'm using Windows 8. Any solutions? Thank you in advance!

Hi,
It might be the keyboard that's defective. Have you tried the keyboard on another computer?

The optimist declared: this glass is half full. The pessimist replied: I would rather say it is half empty. The engineer then said: but no, this glass is simply twice as big.

Try then to connect a USB keyboard to your laptop; if it works, then your laptop's keyboard is broken. If you still have the same problem, then it's software-related, and I don't think I can help you there.
