Hello, today I tried to turn on my ASUS X55V laptop (which is at least 4 or 5 years old but was in good working condition before) and the ASUS logo appears then goes away, leaving a black screen with no mouse pointer. In trying various ways to restart it, it once got stuck on an update and also displayed a message saying that Windows could not start correctly. I clicked on restart, but still nothing happens. I also tried CTRL ALT DELETE and Windows + X, but nothing works either...
Thank you in advance to everyone who can help!

Good evening,

1/ Remove the battery
disconnect the power supply
press and hold the power button for at least 30 seconds
replace the battery
plug it back into the power source
press the power button to restart

or
Remove the battery.
Press and hold the power button.
possibly let the computer rest without the battery... for 1 hour for example
Press the power button again ...
The computer should then be reset

or
remove the battery
-connect your PC to the power supply, turn it on.
-wait for it to start up
-remove your power cord
-insert the battery, reconnect the power cord and turn your PC back on

2/ tap the F9 key at startup
advanced options or settings
command prompt
type: rstrui.exe
then press enter on the keyboard
the window => System Restore appears
Click next A calendar appears
Check the box Show more restore points.
Choose a proposed date from a restore point to highlight it
And especially a proposed date before your problems.
Click next Click finish The PC will restart and the restoration will execute.

Hello jarod14
You need to read carefully
For Windows 8, you will not have the option to access safe mode by tapping F8 at system startup

As for the F9 key, it is used to launch the recovery partition!
Have a good evening ^^

All of that isn't working, but thank you for your answers. Apparently, my internal hard drive or my graphics card just failed me.
