Hello everyone.
I have a laptop running Windows 8, and for some time now, I can no longer access the control panel and its features (such as access to the Windows firewall). As soon as I launch the control panel, a blank page appears and the window freezes, making it impossible to take any action, so I have to restart Windows Explorer via the task manager, the same goes for the features I launch via Windows search.
I have tried several times to run sfc /scannow via cmd, but with no results; the scan is infinite and yields nothing.
I have searched for a solution on many forums but found nothing, so your help is invaluable as I really need the control panel and its features. Thank you in advance.

Finally, I managed to solve my problem thanks to an English site! (By the way, thanks to Jovany13 who advised me to look into English-speaking sites).
Here’s the solution:
- Go to the registry editor (by pressing Windows + R to open run and typing "regedit").
- Follow this path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CurrentControlSet -> Services -> netprofm -> Parameters (click on it)
- Then in "Parameters", click on "ServiceDll" and change the value data to: "%SystemRoot%\System32\netprofmsvc.dll".
And there you go, all you have to do now is restart your computer and the problem is solved.
