    Hi,
Do you have another photo that is a bit brighter?
Is there a reference, a brand, etc. written on it?

    Thanks to everyone

    Hello,
This seems to be a distribution box.
Do you live in a house with several apartments?
It appears to be fixed to the wall. The cable on the right seems to indicate that it is crimped (so in theory, you shouldn't touch it) "not sure."
I would focus more on the "screw or nut in the center"; you need to fiddle around with it in every direction.
What do you plan to do, if you don’t mind me asking?

    Thank you all.

    Hello
This is a telephone line junction.
A special key is needed to open it.
It is used to distribute lines, and access is generally reserved for Orange or the operators' cable technicians...

      Hi,
      Absolutely, it's a PTT head.
According to the indications, 10 lines arrive (Head 2, 1 complete starter, so 7 pairs and pairs 1 to 3 on starter 2).
The positions of the lines are only known by Orange.
If you fiddle around, you have a 9 in 10 chance of cutting your neighbors rather than finding your line, unless you know exactly which output cable arrives at your place.
      In principle,
you find this on the landings of collective buildings.
      Here is one opened:
It's a slightly smaller model (one starter instead of two, but the principle is the same).

Hello, thank you all for your responses.

I am renting an apartment in a building with 8 units (2 per floor).

I just wanted to check the oxidation and clean the connectors or possibly replace the telephone cable since it is very old.

Since I cannot open the box (it requires a special key), I will get in touch with my landlord, and since my neighbor's cable has been cut, I think I have a good chance of getting a response.

Thank you all, and have a good evening.

Do you have any connection issues or not?

        Good evening,

At the beginning yes, but I started to optimize my ADSL line. I was at 5 megabytes, and now I am at 7 megabytes.

I wanted to check the connection regarding the FT connections (oxidation or damaged cable) and replace it if necessary.

So normally, I should have FTTH coming in 4 years unless there are delays from Orange.

        Have a good evening.
