Removal of "next record" mail merge Solved

Question

Hello everyone,

I'm here to ask for help on a new topic as I couldn't find the answer in other messages about mail merge.

I found in "Labels" the exact template of the labels I ordered (Avery brand).
I want to insert a simple 3-line text into each box, looking like this:
Ø1mm
TA6V
LOT XXX

So I type the text into the first label. I perform the operation to have the same text in all labels.
But when I update the labels, I find "Next Record" before my text!

So I have two questions:
1. What action should I take to avoid having "Next Record" when duplicating my text?
2. Once this issue is resolved, if someone changes the text in the first box to, for example: Ø2mm, and clicks on "Update Labels," will it modify all the labels?

Hello

1 - By entering the fields on the first label, 'update labels' is used to deploy the input merge fields from the first label to each label
2 - 'Next record' is a specific mail merge field that tells Word, as its name indicates, to fetch the next record in the database. Essential, otherwise you would always have the same label
It displays the same way as the merge fields you have inserted

Now, you need to merge: click on 'Preview results' or on 'Finish & Merge' to a new document that will give you an idea of the result

However, it is impossible to click on "Preview Results" or "Finish & Merge". They are grayed out.
What could be the cause?

When you say "the merge fields you inserted": I didn't insert anything, I directly typed the only text I want to put in all the fields.

Hello,

There are two kinds of label sheets:
- different labels that are filled in via mail merge and a database,
- unique labels

To create a unique label sheet, there is no need to use mail merge. You type your text in a blank page, then go to the Mailings tab, select the Create tab => Labels
There you choose your label format, the "Same page of labels" option, and then click on New Document.
