Mail merge in Word: create multiple distinct documents. Solved

Question

Hello,
During a mail merge, Word generates a file containing x letters for as many recipients. We can say that this file forms a "chain."

My question: is it possible to unchain, or obtain separate files (1 for each letter/recipient)? For example, if the file consists of 30 letters, how can I get 30 individual files?
My goal is to be able to place a copy in the document management system or in the client's digital folder after sending.
Today, to do this, I have to scan each printed letter to create a PDF.
Is there another way?

Windows 7 and Office 2007.

Is the document you created unique with section breaks between the recipients?? If so, you need to convert the section breaks into page breaks, so it will be independent.

Hello everyone,

I have the same problem as Mikala, which is generating separate documents for each recipient in the mailing list.

I followed the video posted by J.WALLE.

The macro works perfectly when the base document is just one page.

However, as soon as there are multiple pages, the macro doesn't work.

I'm not completely sure that it is indeed the number of pages that is causing the problem, but it is the only variable between the documents where the macro works and those where it doesn't.

Do you have a solution?

Hello,

After more than 6 months, a solution may have been found, but if this can be useful to others:
If it concerns printed files in pdf, a small portable and free software allows for many manipulations on pdfs, including the page-by-page splitting requested above, or every "n" pages, or after a certain page, etc. It also allows for merging, deleting certain pages, etc.
I use it quite a bit at work. The downside is that you have to rename all the docs one by one.
