Hello everyone
I recently bought a second-hand Macbook Pro. I installed OS X El Capitan on it with a clean install.
However, I can’t connect to my Apple account. So I decided to contact Apple (via chat) and they asked for the serial number of the machine. I went to "About This Mac" and there, surprise!
Serial number not available
What can I do to fix this?
Have a good day, and happy holidays.
Configuration: I have everything I need :)

Best regards, François :)
Whoever you are, I wish you a good day ;)

Well, I managed to solve my problem by myself for once.
- I retrieved the serial number written underneath the machine (it is engraved).
- I downloaded "Blank Board Serializer" on a second iMac, which is software intended to be used by Apple only.
- I "burned" the DMG file onto a USB stick (using the "Restore" function in Disk Utility. It can also work if burned onto a CD)
- I booted the Mac from the USB stick (press Option/Alt before seeing the Apple logo)
- I accepted the blah blah blah conditions
- I entered the previously noted serial number
- I validated, and upon rebooting, the serial number is present and I can use Apple services!
Happy holidays anyway!
