Hello!
I have a problem with a Packard Bell EasyNote TV44HC-B9604G50Mnwb (Windows 8) laptop. After multiple unsuccessful attempts, my computer displays "atapi cd rom matshitadvd-ram uj8c0 has been blocked by the current security policy."
I click "enter," this message appears again, I click "enter," then the message "no bootable device, hit any key" appears. I click "enter," then "boot manager" appears, a gray screen where it says
"boot option menu
1. atapi cdrom: matshitadvd-ram uj8c0
I click "enter," and I return to the message "atapi cd rom matshitadvd-ram uj8c0 has been blocked by the current security policy"
Is there anything I can do to recover my computer?
Or is it over?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello!
I have the impression that you are trying to reinstall Windows on your PC but are having difficulties.
Either the DVD in your computer is not a system installation DVD. But I suppose you know what you're doing. In any case, if that were the case and you also cannot boot from drive C, the system will give you a message saying that the DVD is not a bootable DVD.
So I think your DVD drive is having operational issues. In my opinion, it's a hardware failure.
As for reinstalling Windows without a DVD, that is possible if you press the F9 or F10 key while restarting the system. But it all depends on the age of your computer. If you have a custom-built PC, it won't work. As for the F9 or F10 keys, that depends on the brand of the computer; it may also be a different key to activate.
If it works, Windows will be reinstalled with the factory configuration from the time you bought the computer. Consequently, you will have to redo all the Windows updates. One last thing, don't forget to back up your personal data from the C partition of the HDD because C will be formatted during the Windows installation.
Good luck!
