Hello,
First of all, I want to explain that I didn’t find a section directly related to projectors...
My problem is the following:
I recently purchased a Lenovo laptop (with Windows 8). I connected a BenQ projector to it via HDMI. Sometimes when I start my computer (with the projector connected), my screen is black. If I turn on the projector, nothing is displayed. I then disconnect the projector from the laptop and my desktop returns on my PC. When I reconnect my projector, my desktop remains on my PC but nothing appears on the projector, even when using keyboard shortcuts to change the display. In fact, my projector is recognized, but it does not recognize my PC.
For your information, I never had this problem with my old laptop, so the projector shouldn’t be responsible.
If anyone has any ideas...
Thank you
Baz

Hello,
This issue is related to Windows.
You also need to install the driver for your projector on your PC as if it were a monitor.
YOUR projector must be turned on before starting the PC... to be recognized immediately... you also need to check the projector menu... to see if the computer is properly recognized via HDMI and not VGA, depending on the projector model.

Re,
It must necessarily be turned on, I don’t know...?
I say this because for mine, that's the case, it’s an Optoma.
If you didn't have the problem with your old PC, that means it doesn't come from the projector, but from Windows... So you need to look in your settings... You might need to check the HDMI settings because this type of display is not recognized as native...
There might also be video image format incompatibilities... Your projector must accept certain dimensions and pixels per image in 4 or 5 dimensions but not an infinite number... and the one coming from your PC is not necessarily in the format that suits it..??
You might also need to install the HDMI display driver from your manufacturer, compatible with your version of Windows.
If you are on Windows 8... You need the HDMI drivers for Windows 8 taken from the manufacturer's website of your PC...

Okay, I'll check that out tonight. Thanks for your reply!
Just one thing, does my VP have to be on before my PC? I didn't have this issue with my old PC.
Thanks again.
