BIOS update ver. F14 on my Gigabyte

Hello,

My tower is equipped with a Gigabyte DS3 motherboard with a 965P chipset. I recently acquired a Core2duo E8400, but once it's installed, when I turn on the PC, nothing happens, booting is impossible...
I went to the Gigabyte website to download the latest BIOS updater for this motherboard (version F14), but I would like to have details on how to perform this update safely!

    Hello, I also have a Gigabyte motherboard.
    Before any update operations, disable everything that is antivirus, firewall, meaning everything that is supposed to protect against intruders. Once your update is done, reactivate everything.
    What I do is download the BIOS, restart the computer, disable the protections, and then perform the following steps:
    To update, I use @BIOS to avoid any risks; I first download the BIOS file, then through the "update BIOS from file" function, I select the downloaded file and there we go.

    DON'T MIX UP THE BIOS

    Alright, but I want to make sure that if I do this update, it will resolve my problem... Which, I remind you, is the recognition of my Core2duo E8400.

    Given the information on the CPU and BIOS pages, Gigabyte does not respond either yes or no to this question. We will have to wait for a BIOS update.
    In the case of your motherboard and your new processor, F13 or F14 are the same.
    So currently, none of the BIOS versions for your motherboard support this processor.

    Thank you, Ralf-Serge. I checked with CPU-Z, I have version F10. It is said according to Gigabyte that F13 does: "Update CPU microcode"
    Isn't that the problem?

    On the link you provided above for your motherboard, there is a tab "CPU support list".
    There, we can see that the E8400 is supported with F13 and F14, so it’s best to flash with F14. (The support is not official, it is noted, no worries, it’s because Intel has not officially announced support for FSB1333 for the P965)

    For the flash, you must absolutely put back the old CPU, as you need to flash in a functional and stable environment. Mandatory.

    For the flash, use this utility:

    But do not use the method via the internet (exclude 4-II, go to 4-III)
