Hello,
Yesterday, I turned off my laptop. When I turned it back on, I got a black screen with a blinking white dash. I've tried various actions like trying to start it in safe mode, booting from the CD, accessing the BIOS to see if my hard drive was still recognized... But with no results :/ In my opinion, the hard drive seems to start up when I press the power button, but then I end up back at the beginning of this discussion. The only thing I've noticed is that when I press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, the laptop restarts but goes back to the black screen with the blinking dash.
I should add that I took a little tour on some forums but didn't find anything related to my current problem.
My laptop is an HP Pavilion; Intel i7 processor at 2.20GHz; 8GB of RAM; Windows 10.
Does anyone have a solution to suggest?
Thank you in advance for your help.

For me, the RAM isn't the issue; I would lean more towards the processor or the motherboard, but hey... I won't claim it for sure!
Defective RAM would, in my opinion, make the machine beep continuously...
You don't have a memory card, a USB stick, or anything else plugged in... if that's the case, remove everything.

No, absolutely nothing is plugged in, not even the battery. But I still tried to turn it on with and without the battery.
