Play a DVD with Windows 10

Hello,

I wanted to download Windows 10, but when I tried to read a DVD, it no longer worked. I read on forums that you need to buy an application, so I put Windows 8.1 back on my PC, but now I still can't read DVDs. When I put a DVD in, no window opens, and it just spins endlessly.
Does anyone know how to make it work again?
Thank you in advance.

    Hello,

People who say that you have to buy an application are completely missing the point. It is quite unfortunate that you downgraded your O.S. to Windows 8.1, as that operation was unnecessary.

To play DVDs on Windows 10, as well as virtually all video files, you just need to download the free VLC application.

You can download it directly from the publisher's site here:

    http://www.videolan.org

Of course, you can choose to have the menus in French during installation.
To play a DVD, click on Media\Open Disc\DVD\Play.

      Hello,

I reinstalled Windows 10 and I installed VLC, but I still can't play DVDs. When I insert the DVD and go to VLC, it doesn't detect it.
