Hello, my PC won't turn on and I really need your help.
The last time it worked was a week ago, it wouldn't turn off anymore, so I had to turn it off manually...
The next day, I want to turn it back on: NADA
Just a long and continuous beep...
I took the PC apart, unplugged and reconnected the graphics card, sound card, RAM... and still the same beep
By chance, with my friend who had a problem with his defective power supply, I unplugged mine and replaced it with his, and miracle, the PC works....
So I take my power supply, plug it into his, and miracle also my power supply works on his too...
So I don't understand: his power supply works on my PC, mine on his, but mine can't start my PC, given that it won't turn on and only emits beeps...
In your opinion, where is the problem?
...thank you!

Hi
Several things to check.
1) Is the fan running properly? If so, move on to step 2; otherwise, check that it is properly connected to the motherboard.
2) Make sure the graphics card is firmly seated, then test it; if it doesn't work, proceed to step 3.
3) - If you have only one RAM stick, move it around to all available slots and test.
- If you have 2 RAM sticks, remove one and test with just the other in all slots, then remove it and put back the one you took out, testing it in all slots.
If it still doesn't work, leave only one for now to limit the potential causes of the issue.
4) If it still doesn't work, carefully remove the motherboard + CPU + fan assembly, then gently take off the fan, remove the processor, and with a brush and a lot of care, remove as much dust as possible, then reassemble everything calmly ^^ and in the same way it was.
Keep me posted (and do all the manipulations carefully because all of this gear is fragile :p)

I had the same problem, but for me, it was the keyboard that needed to be disconnected.
Sometimes during a power surge (from the Power Supply), all components may freeze and refuse to start for fear of causing hardware damage. In such a case, I recommend unplugging the power supply from the wall, disconnecting the power cable from the motherboard, removing the battery from the motherboard, waiting about 30 minutes (you can never be too sure), and then reassembling everything in the reverse order. This way, the capacitors in your system will have time to discharge. The reason your PC started again is due to this. While you were disassembling it, the capacitors discharged, and the motherboard understood that it was no longer dangerous.
Here's what you need to do now. Given that you've had serious issues with your Power Supply, some components may have been damaged. Do a visual inspection. Are the capacitors leaking (is there any dried liquid on top of them? Are they bulging?)? Additionally, I recommend using a multimeter to check all the connectors of your power supply to see if it's struggling. Personally, I wouldn't take any chances; it's a component that can cause significant damage. Given the price, it might be worth investing in a replacement.
You can also visit the manufacturer's website for your motherboard and check the Beep Code Error with the model of BIOS in your system. It will tell you what each beep means.

I've already removed the battery, but only for 3 minutes...
I'm going to try again, but this time for 30 minutes and will keep you updated tomorrow...
Is there another way to "unplug" the BIOS?
If so, please explain clearly, as you are dealing with a noob^^
My motherboard is an Asus A8NE
Thank you, you are nice to help... I hope this will work.

Unfortunately not, the only way to perform a proper reset on a BIOS is to flash it. But be careful, because a wrong move can lead to significant problems with your hardware.
Start by unplugging everything. See what that will do.
One thing is certain. In any type of motherboard, a BeepCodeError that never stops indicates a problem with the motherboard itself. Otherwise, you should only hear the error code once.

Good evening,
I don't know if your problem is resolved. In any case, I had the same issue on my PC...
Actually, I completely disassembled and reassembled it and strongly suspect that it was a problem with a poorly seated component,
and I strongly suspect the memory sticks...
Try disassembling piece by piece and rebooting each time...
Best regards

Hello, on an Aspire M 3100 it was working, but after a power cut, it won't turn on anymore. It stays stuck on the Acer BIOS screen and beeps three times. We can't even access the BIOS, we can't do anything, everything is locked. So how can we get it to restart? However, during the power cut, the PC was off, but the power button on the power strip was lit. Thank you for your help, it's urgent.
If someone can help me, when I start my Acer Windows XP laptop, it makes a long annoying beep and doesn't start
thank you for your help in advance
