Hello everyone,

I want to upgrade my Asus PC. It works well overall but is slow to start and doesn't have Bluetooth or Wi-Di (Wireless Display).

I am considering adding a 256GB SSD, changing the network card, and adding a memory stick.

Here are the selected products:

Network card: For Bluetooth and wireless display

RAM Memory:

SSD:

Could you please let me know if they are compatible with my PC?
I also have a few questions:

- Does the i5 Sandy Bridge processor support wireless display?
- Is 12GB of RAM too much? Does the processor handle 12GB?
- Do I have 2 slots for HDD/SSD? If not, what can be done?

Thank you very much,

Lynard

    Hello,
we can't help you without the exact and complete reference of your PC.

    Is it the X53SJ?
If so, here's its review on a well-known site:
    http://www.laptopspirit.fr/95615/asus-x53sj-sx129v-a-549-euros-core-i5-sandy-bridge-gt-520m-optimus-640-go.html

Does the i5 Sandy Bridge processor support wireless display?
Yes, if it is indeed the PC described above, see Intel's documentation on the i5 2410M:
    https://ark.intel.com/content/www/fr/fr/ark/products/52224/intel-core-i5-2410m-processor-3m-cache-up-to-2-90-ghz.html

Isn't 12 GB of RAM too much? Does the processor support 12 GB?
Intel's documentation states a maximum of 16 GB for this i5, but laptopspirit's review says a maximum of 8 GB: I think this PC doesn't support modules beyond 4 GB, hence limited to 8 GB since there are only 2 memory slots.
Anyway, unless there are very specific needs, I don't see the use of 12 GB.

    Do I have 2 slots for HDD/SSD?
No idea, you'll need to open the laptop to find out...
For more information, you will need to contact Asus support.
