The difference between .com and .fr

Hello, I have a Hotmail address but sometimes I make a mistake and put .com at the end or .fr. Is that serious? Will the two be the same? Will I receive the same messages on both?

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 43.0.2357.124

    Hi,
    The two addresses are different. If abc@hotmail.fr exists, it will have nothing to do with abc@hotmail.com; the two accounts will be separate.
    If I send an email to abc@hotmail.fr, abc@hotmail.com will not receive it.

      Well, don't get it wrong! Or reserve both. Although, I don't know if it's still possible to reserve a Hotmail address, to be confirmed. Now it's either Live or Outlook, I believe.
