SSL Connection Error Solved

Question

Hello, I have a computer that displays "SSL connection error" when I try to perform a search. However, this issue only occurs on the child's account on this computer; Google Chrome works perfectly on the administrator account. Furthermore, I cannot update Google Chrome; when I click on "About," a message appears: "Update failed (error: 4) An error occurred while checking for the update: failed to start update check." This computer is using Windows 8.  I am therefore writing this message from a second computer.  However, I have done some research beforehand: the date and time are set correctly, and I have also performed several cleanups using Malware Bytes, Adwcleaner, Adsfix, and Ccleaner. Nothing has worked.  Do you have any suggestions for me? Thank you in advance!

Hello,  Probably the HTTPS analysis of your antivirus - see https://forum.malekal.com/viewtopic.php?t=47196&start=  it must be missing the antivirus certificates. I checked the status of the encryption service: it is set to automatic. I also launched Chrome with all my antivirus programs disabled, but the problem persists. I also reset my settings.  I forgot to mention that every time I open Chrome, I get the message "unable to read your preferences." I do have a Gmail account linked to Chrome. I don't know if these two issues are related.  I will try to uninstall and then reinstall Chrome.  Thank you for your help!

It doesn’t seem to me that Adsfix has blocked, but it’s possible since I wasn’t on my PC during the scan, so it could have bugged at some point without my noticing... (the scan lasted for hours).  I checked the link on your forum: I also have a slowdown on my computer, I didn't think that the origin was the same as for SSL.  Is there a way to fix this?

I completely reinstalled Windows and recreated both accounts. As before, Chrome works on the admin account but not on the child account (still the same SSL error code). That said, the extensions remain, and Chrome doesn’t reset as soon as I close it like it used to do before.  I also tried with Mozilla: it doesn’t work either with the child account. Only Explorer works.

Is the session admin or not? There must be a permissions problem, in the errors in the event viewer, do you not have access denied on TLS or SSL?  On the children's session: If you launch the browser by right-clicking / run as administrator, does it work? Good evening, I have created another child account: Mozilla still doesn't work (same error code), while Chrome works very well.  However, on the other non-child account I created, all browsers work fine, including Mozilla.   So there must be a permission issue as you mentioned...

I tested it and it does the same thing for me: https://pjjoint.malekal.com/files.php?read=20150501_h7b5g8c5v10  It's funny because it only happens on Google. My HTTPS site is fine. The Mozilla page is fine too.  Maybe the type of certificate is to blame. Firefox uses its own certificate store, while IE and Google Chrome use the one from Windows.  Also, on child sessions, there’s parental control, that might cause issues with Avast!.
