Connection issue between LG Smart TV and Wi-Fi

Hello everyone,

My LG television was no longer connecting automatically to my Wi-Fi...

I had to go into settings, turn off the Wi-Fi, then turn it back on, and only then would it agree to reconnect... annoying.

So today, I called customer service, "restore factory settings," they told me. I'm not too pleased about it... but fine, I did it.

And now, connecting to my router is impossible, the password checked 200 times doesn't work, nor does the WPS connection!
(for your information, it’s a personal, plain password that I display and that all my devices have been using for years).
All my devices are on this network and have always worked without any issues, it's just this television that tells me it's incorrect!

Then customer service tells me, "change your password," it will work after... I suspect I'm not the first! After erasing all my settings, they want me to change the password for all my Wi-Fi devices at home: phone, tablet, Chromecast, FireTV, smart plugs, etc... !

I can only connect to my router in Orange hotspot mode because there’s no password. It’s limited to 2.4GHz, I can’t recreate my Netflix connections and others, it’s wonderful, I should never have called them and just stuck with my situation...

I’m open to any ideas, other than getting rid of my Wi-Fi password or being told that the password I'm using is incorrect (I display it when I specify it) ;-)

Thanks in advance.

This is the last time I buy LG equipment, the soundbar already freezes every 5 minutes (with no solution)... I had never seen bugs at such a level of perfection, it's a work of art!

Hi,

If your problem is due to an update and if it’s possible, download the correct update from the manufacturer's website and perform a downgrade via USB key. Then disable automatic updates on your TV.

However, make sure not to get the reference wrong, as you risk bricking your TV. It would be best to ask LG to send you the update that works perfectly for your TV.

Thank you Vivaldor, but I'm going to stay like this. I don't have much confidence in the customer service skills and I don't want to permanently ruin my TV.
Maybe, one day..., an update will fix this problem...

On the web, I found quite a few people who have similar issues with LG; I don't know about the other manufacturers. But frankly, the Wi-Fi connection is something that should be sorted for all devices, regardless of size, from the smallest to the largest, like a smart bulb or a connected outlet. So, on a device of this price and technology, it leaves me in awe. One day, I will start a thread about the LG soundbar connected to my television...
Thank you for your efforts.

I have an LG OLED and it's complicated, hang in there you'll get through it.
