Hello, I just bought GTA V and when I play, it's really unplayable, I have huge fps drops and when I don't have drops, I get micro lags, it's really annoying, I can't take it anymore, I'm fed up with buying a game and not being able to play peacefully afterwards. For your information, my setup is:
-i5 4570
-8GB of G.Skill RAM 1600MHz
-GTX 780 3GB

even with everything set to minimum, it's slightly better but still unplayable, I've tried enabling vertical sync even in the Nvidia control panel, it doesn't change anything

please help, I'm at my wit's end, thanks!

Hello! Sorry, I totally forgot about this topic, ANYWAY! I had a solution if you have an MSI motherboard! Personally, I just had to go to the network card driver (it's Qualcomm Atheros Killer Network Manager, download it if you don’t have it, generally all MSI motherboards are compatible with this driver) Then, go to "Applications" in the left column. Look for grand theft auto v in the applications (if you have the pre-launcher and the launcher do the same with those) then click on the GTA application, which will expand a menu, and on the left, you have "low" or "normal," I don't remember which, set this option to high and your problem should normally be fixed! Good luck ^^

Hello,
I have the same issue with FPS drops, I play on BF1 and I don't have this problem on ultra 3840p, but on GTA it's a flood of drops... I go from 107 to 40 fps. My eyes are bleeding...
My setup:
-GTX 1070 EX KFA2.
-AMD FX 8370 4.30GHz 8-Core.
-16GB.
(I play a lot of other demanding games and I don't have frame issues, only with GTA).
Do you have a solution? Best regards.

Hi, it's normal that you experienced a drop in FPS because GTA 5 is really, really resource-intensive... There's nothing we can do about it...
You need a crazy high-end setup to run it properly with good quality unfortunately.

Thanks for your reply ^^
But the thing is, the recommended config is much less powerful than mine, that's the most annoying part, it was supposed to run smoothly!

KayzySupra,... I don't think you've played GTA V on PC because you wouldn't say that; the game is actually very well optimized, and even mid-range setups can run it. I'm living proof of that on my laptop with a GTX 760 M and almost all settings on max...

Try closing all other programs/browsers and anything that might be consuming memory and/or CPU, maybe there’s an application that’s draining it all, or if you can, try the game on an SSD (or at least defragment the one where it’s located); maybe that will help ^^

Personally, with my GTX760 3GB and an i7 3.7GHz with 8GB of RAM, I can put everything on max without any issues. However, after more than 2 hours of gaming, I start to experience micro lags, and then huge drops from 60 to 15... Luckily, I rarely play for more than 2 hours straight, but it's quite annoying :/

Hello Vincent,

So can you detail your setup a bit more? Do you play on a laptop or a desktop?

A GTX780 is only for desktop computers, and the 3GB version of the card is a 192-bit version, often made by the manufacturer Asus.
