Hello,
I just bought an EasyCAP converter with the Ulead Video Studio installation software to record my VHS tapes to USB.
After setting up the hardware: the SCART output from the VCR with a 3 RCA male to 3 RCA male cable (yellow, white, red) connected to the EasyCAP system linked to my PC.
Following this connection, I installed Ulead Video Studio and the SMI Grabber Device driver.
I launched the software and started video capturing, but nothing appears on my screen.
I have tried changing several things:
- changing the SCART channel (in/out): no changes.
- changing the channel on the VCR (video TV or video converter): no changes.
The question I have is whether the "S-Video" cable included with the EasyCAP system (in addition to the yellow, red, and white female cables) needs to be connected to my PC, and if so, how?
Could you please help me?
Thank you in advance.

Hello
This type of equipment is continuously subject to image import issues or black and white images because it doesn't handle SECAM
In short, it's crap (personal opinion)
In the software, you need to configure the source for both video AND audio; the SVHS cable is not necessary.

Hello,
Thank you very much for your response HOMBOURGEOIS!
How do you go about configuring the source?
If this equipment is prone to issues, is there a more user-friendly downloadable software available?
Thank you

I don't know how to configure the software because, obviously, I don't have this hardware but something else that works perfectly fine.
As for software, you can try AVS Video Recorder, but I don't know if it's compatible with your stick.

I just downloaded AVS Video Recorder and nothing happens, no images are displayed.
I still tried to see on a TV if the VCR worked and indeed the video works.
What do you use to transfer your VHS to USB?
Do you have any other solutions to offer me, please?

Personally, I've been using a Dazzle box for 10 years, which is certainly more expensive, but at least it works 100% for PAL or Secam tapes!!!

also sold in large retail stores.

I have just acquired the Dazzle box, and indeed, it works without any problem.
However, I have a quick question: before digitizing, the software asks me if I want multiple videos (cut every x minutes) or if I want the entire video.
I chose the entire video, but at the end of the digitization, the software saves several captures instead of just one.
Is this normal or is there another solution?
