Hello, I'm writing to you because I recently bought the game Gran Turismo 6 for my PS3, but I can't install it. Every time I've completed the 10 hours of downloading updates, the disc spins, tells me it's going to install, and in the end, I get a lovely "installation failed." I wanted to know if I was the only one and if anyone has a solution to fix this.
Thank you in advance
Configuration: Mac OS X (10.9.4) / Safari 7.0.5

So you will need to download the updates one by one… let me explain…
First of all, before starting your updates, make sure your PlayStation is not connected and that you can play the game… without being connected…
If you can't play it without being connected, delete everything related to GT6… if you have already played it and your garage is full, save your progress on a USB drive.
Once everything is ready, connect and start your updates for the game GT6… today I'm doing it and there are 20 of them… (1/20)
So do the first update, it's 1255MB, as soon as it finishes, wait for its installation…
As soon as the installation is complete, the second update (2/20) of 99MB will start, and then cancel the download, do not let it install or you'll have to start over…
Now disconnect from the PlayStation Network and launch the game without updating or connecting…

It worked, but do we need to do the rest of the updates or not? And can we play online without doing the updates? Thank you.

Best solution if we only have Wi-Fi. Thank you.
you must be the only one because for me the installation took 5 minutes
A.your gt6 is not working
B.your ps3 can't read it because
a.the disc is dirty
b.the disc has been tampered with
c.your console has been tampered with and is no longer updating correctly.

Hello, it's the 1.21 update that's blocking me; it says "installation failed." The game downloads and installs, but the update gets stuck! I'm on a non-hacked PS3 ultra slim 500GB, it works perfectly, and my Gran Turismo 6 is brand new; I bought it yesterday! If you have any solutions, please let me know, and I can't find the game's support contacts.
Hello,
Under certain conditions, it is possible that the game update fails during the installation process. You will then receive the message "Installation Failed".
Try pressing the PS button to exit the game and relaunch it. Restart the game several times to resolve the issue. It is also possible that the data is corrupted; delete the game data to resolve the issue.
Deleting the game data will not affect your progress, garage content, or credits (which are stored in your save), but will result in the following issues:
- All updates released since launch will need to be downloaded and installed again. Depending on your network speed, this operation may take a while.
- All replay files will be lost. Those that you have already exported from the "Library" page in the [Gallery] menu to an external storage device will be copied again during the new update.
- All "Photo Travel" and "Race Photo" files will be lost. Those that you have already exported from the "Library" page in the [Gallery] menu to an external storage device will be copied again during the new update.
If you still decide to delete the game data, follow these steps:
(1) Go to the XMB (XrossMediaBar) menu of the PS3(TM) -> [Game] -> folder [Game Data Management] and press the X button to enter the menu (*do not delete any files in the [Saved Data Management (PS3(TM))] folder);
(2) Select the "Gran Turismo 6" file and press ?;
(3) Select "Delete" from the options menu and press the X button;
(4) Return to the XMB (XrossMediaBar) menu of the PS3(TM) -> [Game] -> [Gran Turismo 6], press the X button to launch the game and agree to download and install the updates (*an internet connection is required).
Or:
We have identified an issue that may cause some users to receive the following error when downloading new updates, when version 1.02 is installed.
Steps to reproduce:
1.
When you launch Gran Turismo while connected to PSN, a message appears informing you that "the latest update data for this software has been found (Version x.xx)".
2.
When you accept (by selecting [OK] and pressing the X button), the message "Please wait..." appears. After a few seconds, the PlayStation®3 system emits 3 beeps and restarts automatically.
3.
Some users will then receive a message indicating that the system did not shut down properly last time. They will be asked to check the files; the reset will then be completed.
4.
They will then be prompted to download the update again, whether or not they received the message from step 3.
Procedure to avoid this issue:
To avoid this issue, please accept the update download by selecting [OK] within 2 seconds of it appearing on the screen. This action will allow you to update the game without error.
If you exceed 2 seconds, decline the update by pressing the Circle button when the message from step 1 appears, then select [Back] on the following "Connecting to PSN" screen. The game will restart. Exit the game using the PS button on the [My Home] screen and follow the procedure outlined above.
Note:
During step 3, you may receive the message "Report this issue to Sony Computer Entertainment?". Select [Yes] or [No] to continue.

Hi everyone, I have the same issue and it says I have 430 minutes remaining yet I've tried both methods and it still doesn't work. Please help me, thanks.
I have had Gran Turismo 6 for a year now and because of the update, I still haven't been able to play it.
The download for the update works, but the installation doesn't, after 2 minutes it shows that there is a failure in the installation.
I have several ideas:
- The disk is almost full because I have a lot of game data
- The disk is damaged
- The PS3 is not compatible with this disk

Hi everyone, here’s a solution that worked for me.
- Make sure that in the network settings, the multimedia server connection is disabled.
- Disable all sleep options in the system menus (Screen, Controller, Console...)
- Disable the upnp option in the connection settings (over WiFi).
- When launching the game, refuse the suggested update to start it through the GT shop on the far left of the main menu.
- To avoid corrupted data, if there’s a network disconnection (especially on a hotspot), when you restart the game, cancel the update and wait for the one that was downloaded to install. Afterwards, "same operation," restart the update through the GT shop.
For your information, I’m on a PS3 slim with 120GB free, games in BD format, and connected to a public SFR WiFi hotspot with 80% signal.
I haven’t resorted to the step-by-step trick nor any kind of reformatting of the console, let alone recovery (Though 1 in 3 times on startup it prompts me for revision, LOL) and finally, I haven’t deleted my game data a single time.
I only got the interrupted download/installation error with the 1.10 update of over 2GB. Once that’s over, it runs smoothly.
PS: I would occasionally fiddle with the joysticks just in case a hidden sleep mode kicked in ;)

Well, I have something actually, when an update is finished, you need to stop all entries in the game and exit and do it 21 times, at the beginning it will be useless but after around the 8th time I believe you absolutely have to do it.
It worked for me. That's why I'm telling you.
