Hello,

I have an OCZ Vertex 3 SSD for over a year.
The problem is that for a few days now, I can only see it in the Device Manager.
When I go to My Computer, I can't see it. There is no drive letter assigned to this disk.
I've used CrystalDiskInfo, but it didn't detect any errors.

How can I resolve this issue?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 39.0.2171.95

Hi,

Check if your SSD is present in the BIOS.

Yes, it is clearly visible in the BIOS.

Is there any other symptoms of malfunction with the SSD apart from its invisibility in the workspace? So you cannot read the files on it?

If CrystalDiskInfo hasn’t detected anything apart from the fact that it’s not visible, it doesn’t seem very serious. To be really sure, you can use similar software like HDtune or HD Sentinel: https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/utilitaires/11625-hd-tune/

Keep me posted and we’ll try to find a solution.

I can't see it anywhere except in Device Manager.
So I can't access the hard drive.

I really can't help you then... I'm not very familiar with SSDs, my thing is HDDs. But here's a page that could help you, with almost the same SSD as yours and the same issues: https://www.pc-infopratique.com/forum-informatique/ssd-reconnu-bios-windows-vt-73461.html
