Hello,
Earlier, when I turned on my PC, everything was fine right before reaching the screen to choose a session. My screen went black with a message: "out of range 74.8 KHz / 60 Hz." I think I know it's about the screen resolution, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I turned off my PC and turned it back on, and I'm offered safe mode, safe mode with commands, another option that displays settings (but I'm not into computers, plus I can't see the desktop with that one), and finally the normal boot mode (which gives me the message "out of range..."). So, I find this strange, especially since it's a gaming PC and it was working perfectly at the highest resolution yesterday. I hope you can help me.
Thanks
PS: My PC runs Windows 7, and I have an LG screen (let me know if you want more info).
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 39.0.2171.95

- When you turn on your computer, try to spam the F8 key, which should give you access to different startup options.
- Go into "enable vga mode" or "low-resolution video" mode as shown in this image by using the arrow keys and your enter key (safe mode if you don't have this option)
- Then, right-click on your desktop -> Screen Resolution and select a higher resolution. - Then go back to the lowest resolution and go to the Advanced Settings tab
- Go to the Monitor tab and reselect the refresh rate you should normally have (probably 60hz)
- You can click OK and close the various open windows and restart your computer normally.
/!\ Follow all these steps carefully even if, by default, the refresh rate is set to 60hz. Make sure to reselect everything. /!\
If everything goes well, you just need to change your screen resolution again so that it is back to the scale of your screen.
Thank you.
Definition of this mode by Microsoft
"Starts Windows using your current video driver and low resolution and refresh rate settings. This mode allows you to reset display settings."
I'll let you mark the topic as resolved!
Happy holidays and have fun playing ;)
nothing happens when I press F8, what should I do? Thank you
