What is Cyberlink PowerDirector used for?

Hello, I had never been interested in this program and this is the first time I've clicked on it.
What can you actually do with this program?
It is originally installed on my PC, but is it a free program or do you need to buy the right to use it after a certain trial period?

    Good evening, and thank you for the quick response.
    I will try to gather some information because it’s surely interesting for the video edits that I was doing until now on Windows Movie Maker... there are probably other options.
