How to block a website on Google Chrome?

Hello,
As the title suggests, I would like to block websites. Unfortunately, I don't know how to do it, any help is welcome!

I have the solution:

Go to settings > show advanced settings (at the very bottom)
(Privacy section) > Content settings
then each time > Manage exceptions and enter the names of the sites, making sure to check the block box next to it :)

Otherwise, there are extensions that make it easier to do this (for Chrome and Android):

Hello,

Apparently, people using Google Chrome are blocking sites with the host file.

Thank you for the link :) I had already tried using the host file by entering 127.0.0.1 followed by the site's address, but it doesn't work; I still have access to it. Any idea?

There is an error in the modification of the file.

There’s no reason why it shouldn’t work.

I went into the hosts file. I added a newline at the end of what was already written, # to signify that I was going to write a comment, a tab, 127.0.0.1, another tab, the website address, saved it, exited, and when I relaunch the browser, I still have access to the site in question.

Juste, if you put your line in comments it won't be used.

You need to remove the #.

Example:

# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # client host x

127.0.0.1 localhost
> This is where you need to add the new line, but without #.
