Can I use my Orange SIM card in an SFR phone?
Hello everyone, I have a plan with Orange that my father pays for, and at my mother's place, I have an SFR box. My mother has an SFR plan, and since we are considering changing the box, I could get attractive prices on many SFR phones. So, will I be able to use my Orange SIM card in this future (probably) SFR phone? Thank you in advance :)

Hello,
If you want to use an Orange SIM in an SFR phone, you must unlock the phone purchased from SFR.
It all depends on the brand and model to do it. The best thing to do is to call SFR so they can give you the instructions. -
Thank you, but can I just get a new box plus a SFR mobile, or do I have to take box + plan + phone?

You are not obliged to take everything from SFR. You can, if you wish, get the box from SFR and that's it. You can buy your phone outright or from another operator (like Orange, for example).
Now, if you take the mobile from SFR, yes, by getting the box from them, you will have attractive prices on plans + phones. But I don't think they sell you a phone without associating it with one of their plans at an attractive price.
In summary,
Thank you, but can I just get a new box plus a SFR phone?
Yes, but you'll have to pay full price for the phone.
Or should I get box + plan + phone?
If you want a phone at an attractive price, then yes. -
yes but I'm still contracted with orange :/ it's just that since I'm a minor, money doesn't flow in abundance ^^

I understand. In that case, the best option is to get it from SFR (phone + plan) and see with them if they can reimburse the cancellation fees from Orange.
When there are special offers, they provide this option.
Now, you need to check with them what the conditions are.
- Do they reimburse you for the entire cancellation fees or only up to a certain limit? (100 euros, for example).
You mentioned that you are still under contract with Orange. For how long? If it’s less than a year, you can invoke the famous Châtel law. You will only have to pay 25% of your remaining plan.
For example, if you pay 100 euros for your plan per year, you will only have to pay 25 euros all at once and you’ll be done with Orange. -
Hello lepetitkipetchi,
Please note that for any mobile unlocking request, if the mobile is still tied to an SFR contract, the procedure can be initiated directly from our website by following this link: https://assistance.sfr.fr/tel-mobile/carte-sim/desimlocker-mobile-achete-sfr.html#sfrintid=GSA_sugg_liens
If the mobile is no longer tied to a contract (for example, after a cancellation), the request must then be made to Customer Service (1023 from a landline).
Finally, any unlocking request must be made by the original purchaser of the mobile.
I hope I was able to provide you with the information you needed?
