W350I used without sim card?

Hello,

I just received a w350i, but since I had a Viewty, I would like to use it as a music player. The problem is that I don't have a second SIM card lying around.

So I would like to know if there is a way to make the phone work, at least the music, without a SIM.

I read this: "The phone can also play music without a SIM card, letting you use it purely as an MP3 player."

    Hello!

    I know my response is very late, but since this problem is not "resolved"...

    I had a Sony Ericsson W300i and for me the Walkman worked. When I turned it on, it brought up a menu where I could choose to start the phone or just the music. I only entered the PIN code if I confirmed to start the phone, so.

    You can try this: start your phone with a SIM card, enter the code, etc.. then go into the settings, look for the advanced settings and you should find an "show menu at startup" option, confirm it and there you go!!
    You can remove the SIM card, restart it and see if this menu appears.

    Personally, my Sony is "dead", but I just turned it on without a SIM card and I got this menu, but since it's not the same model, I can't guarantee anything...

    There you go! (And coincidentally, I now have an LG Viewty... lol!)

    Yeah, well, you just need a SIM card, don’t go buy one, but I’m sure someone you know has one that doesn't work anymore. Just ask, there will probably be some around.

    Well, in the sentence you provide it implies that you don't need a sim.
    Haven't you tested (opening the port without a sim card)?
    On the other hand, you might not have radio as Sebuis mentioned.

    Otherwise, you can ask your friends for a sim card that no longer works and that will be enough.

    Hello, like all recent Sony Ericsson models, the W350 contains flight mode.
    Flight mode is programmed to allow you to listen to music (not the radio) and watch videos stored on the phone's memory card. To use it, you need to select Music only if the phone is in English or Musiq. seule if it is in French when you turn on the mobile.

      Hello, I have a Sony Ericsson W910i Walkman and I would like to listen to music without a SIM card. However, when I turn on the phone, it shows Sony Ericsson for startup but then displays normal mode. In airplane mode at the top of my phone, there are two buttons: one to power it on/off and another marked with "W." When I had my SIM card, I would enter the PIN code and everything, then I would press "W" and the music would display. But now it asks me to insert a SIM card or a demo of the phone. Please help me, thank you.

    I can't find anything and the phone won't turn on without a SIM card, I choose airplane mode but it tells me to insert a SIM card and I can't do anything :(

    Is there a specific technique?

    at startup it asks me for normal mode or airplane mode, I choose airplane mode but it says no SIM card, not very convenient.

    so there is a mode just for music, I'll look for it.
