Hello,
After extensive internet searches on this subject, I can't find anything at all!
I have an Epson Perfection 2480 Photo scanner that is equipped with a separate lid for scanning films and slides (indeed, it has its own neon light that is not the same as for scanning opaque documents).
This neon is broken, so my scanner works but not for scanning films!
It is a white glass type and is about 18 cm long with a diameter of 2 or 3 mm....
It's impossible to find in stores or online a place to buy this to replace it since I have no reference on it except for a small "FR7" written in very small letters!!!
I really don’t know what to do, if someone knows a website or anything about this that could help me, it would be a great help…
I might be struggling while this neon could be very easy to find, so if someone can clarify this for me that would be awesome…
Thank you very much in advance!

Hello, you'll probably need to go through Chinese suppliers, some online research could be fruitful if you really want to change only that element. After all, it's true, if it can be replaced and the price remains reasonable, it's much more economical (and eco-friendly) to repair a device than to throw it away and buy a new one.

Thank you Rocky_123 for your reply, indeed I am already looking to see if it can be found at a reasonable price (it's more ecological indeed) but also if I can avoid changing the scanner just for that since the rest works very well, it would be helpful for me ;)
I have been on this for several days and I can't find anything (let's say that without a reference it's not practical) so I’m willing to do my research solo like a grown-up but I admit that if someone at least knew the type of neon that I need it would be a very, very welcome help =) -
It seems that it's a "cold cathode light tube" in this scanner, but it's not easy without any reference. As I said, there are probably websites that will sell it to you, but this type of component generally has a very specific reference as it is produced for the particular scanner in question and nothing else...

Yes, it's tricky because there's the neon for the normal scan and the one I'm looking for under the hood for the film scan!!! You're referring to the one under the hood, right?
