Hello, I'm posting this message because I have a small problem with my computer. I reformatted this morning, and after reinstalling everything, I can no longer connect to the internet. I am with Noos cable, and I noticed that when I connect the Ethernet to my motherboard (ASUS P5B DELUXE), it lights up red whereas it should normally be green. Aside from that, I found that when typing ipconfig in the command prompt, I had no IP, no subnet mask, and no default gateway; I really don't understand at all. If someone could help me, it would be really nice. Best regards
P.S: I forgot to say that when I connect my Ethernet cable to my other PC, everything works perfectly; I have internet and everything. So the problem is with my PC, either the Ethernet drivers, or I really don't know.

oui oui, I understand you, but the problem isn't there since everything was working fine before the formatting. Once formatted, it's impossible to get the internet back on the computer. As I'm not very knowledgeable about networks, I'm a bit lost.
Good evening, is the network card not showing any issues in Device Manager?
Is the installed driver a Windows driver or an Asus driver?

I haven't changed the cable, the drivers are indeed those from the Asus motherboard, in device management there is no problem, everything is correct.
The simplest thing would be to test it on another network. If it is still red, it's a problem with the network card (broken).
Is it normal that in network favorites I have 3 connections:
- Local area network (network cable unplugged)
- 1394 enabled
- Local area network 2 enabled
- Local area network (network cable unplugged)
- 1394 enabled
- Local area network 2 enabled
1394 is the FireWire.
Click on the second one and see its properties (check "show in the taskbar") IP address?
There might be a double installation of the same card and a conflict
Check in Device Manager (show hidden devices) if the card does not appear multiple times.

Local network 2 therefore: -PCI location 37 (PCI bus 2, device 0, function 0)
-manufacturer Marvell
-driver date: 05/23/06
-driver version: 8.56.1.3
connection using: Marvell Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet.
And in the advanced properties: 802.1p support ---> value: inactive
Local network 1 with a disconnected network cable: (PCI Bus location 5, device 4, function 0
-manufacturer: Marvell
-driver date: 05/23/06
-driver version: 8.56.1.3
-driver: Marvell Yukon 88E 8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet controller
So there you go, I hope this will inform you more. Otherwise, feel free to ask me.

you should uninstall it and reinstall it completely, once done you update the drivers.

Good evening, it seems there is a duplicate between:
"generic marvell..." (generic driver)
and
"Marvell Yukon 88E800...." (manufacturer driver)
If you cannot uninstall one or the other, disable them one by one and test (right-click on the generic marvell and "disable")

I already did that too, these are the drivers for my motherboard so it's normal that there are 2. Before my formatting, I already had these 2 drivers and it worked very well. Now my Ethernet port still lights up red when I plug in the Ethernet cable. The bottom lights up red and the small LED on top is blinking orange.
Hello,
in principle, when there is no connection, the indicator does not light up at all.
Red or green, could it indicate a connection at 10 or 100 Mbps or 1000?
What are you connected to?
Did you enable the display of the connection icon in the properties of the local network connection?
Do you have a DHCP server?

subway,
don't worry, I deleted your message because the screenshot showed your username clearly, I think it's better that it doesn't remain displayed.
by the way,
to copy the content of a cmd display:
right-click on the cmd window, select with the mouse or with the arrows.
when the area is selected, copy it to the clipboard by hitting enter and right-click to paste it here.
don't forget to edit it to erase overly personal data.
the only issue is that the link no longer appears, but I still have access to it (until you delete it on imageshack).
I see you have 2 ethernet ports on your card... do you have the problem on both?
I see you have a connection on local network 2 then, but the dhcp doesn't work.
is this port connected to the internet modem?
can you try connecting your 2 ports together to see?
have you tried another PC on the ISP modem?
it might well be that it's the one that's broken....

and ... Voila! Voila!
Actually, I took a screenshot, because I'm on a different PC right now, so indeed the modem is working very well, since I'm connected through this modem. Otherwise, yes, the problem is present on both ports, and for the rest, I didn't quite understand what I needed to do...
two PCs?
do you have a router or not behind your modem?
I don't know if you mentioned it, but never mind, I see that you're with a "cable" ISP; often these ISPs only allow one MAC address to connect,
are you sure that only the one from the "2nd PC" is authorized? check with the ISP.
otherwise, test with a cable between your two Ethernet ports that don't work: use a crossover cable (that should always work) or a straight one if they are auto-MDI like all modern equipment, to see what happens.
