Hello,

I connected my brand new neuf box via USB cable...
Actually, at the back of my PC, there's a "port" or "socket" (I don't know what it's called) for Ethernet, but when I connect my neuf box to the PC with the Ethernet cable, nothing happens (no connection, nothing..)
How can I check if my PC has Ethernet, please?
Thank you for your answers :)
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

    Hello,

    here are the steps

    in the "control panel"

    double click on "network connections"

right click on "Local Area Connection" then "Properties"

in the "general" tab check "show icon in the notification area when connected"

    then OK

then plug in your RJ45 network connector and see what happens in the taskbar near the clock

      Hello,
I have the same type of problem, I posted a topic today (copy below), it would be nice to reply to my topic. I followed the steps you indicated but same issue, still getting the error message: "the assistant detects no connected network device"

MY POSTED TOPIC: connection issue with the ethernet cable
      Hello,
I just got the 9 box 4 (before I had the trio 2 and I was using the USB cable) and I would like to connect the latter with the ethernet cable. No way, it tells me that a network device is not detected and that I need to check my connections. Since then, I have been going in circles. I see the logo of the 2 blue screens crossed out with a red cross at the bottom right of the screen in the taskbar. When I check, I see that it corresponds to "local area connection 5" which is "VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter". I followed the Microsoft help instructions and verified:

      - the cable itself is not damaged, I tried with another one
      - verification of the network card activation
      - resetting the modem (turning off the modem + waiting)
      - uninstalling and reinstalling the modem and drivers using Device Manager
      - creating a new DSL or wired connection
      - uninstalling firewalls
      - searching for and removing spyware/temp Internet files/viruses
      - repairing the connection
I can still connect with the USB cable without any problem but nothing works with the ETHERNET cable.
      Thank you for your help

        Hello,

        Plug in your Ethernet cable

In "Run," type "CMD" and then in the command line, enter "ipconfig/all"

Then copy the entire report and post it on the forum

To copy: in the command window, click on the icon on the left, then "Edit" / "Select All"

Then press ctrl c to copy the content...

I followed the instructions you gave me, removed the USB cable, connected the Ethernet cable... and... nothing :(
      Nothing happens in the taskbar.
When I plugged the USB cable back in, there was "connection to the local network" displayed..

Is it possible that I have this Ethernet "port" at the back of my PC but "that's it"? Do I need an Ethernet card, like a graphics card for example?
--> and yes I don't know anything about this! sorry

Looking on the forum, I saw that there is indeed an Ethernet card [I'm a little less useless ;) ].
So, if I have this "plug" on the outside of the PC, there must be a card inside..
