Hello, sorry for the title in capital letters... : /
I bought the base game as well as some additional discs. My base game is not in French, so my entire game is in English (so far, so good, are you following?)

Anyway, is there a way to change the language of the entire game without having to uninstall it? If not, how do I do it (and if you could tell me how to uninstall the game, I would be very grateful)

Thank you very much -xxxx-

Configuration: Windows 7 / Safari 533.19.4

Hello! Do this:

1. Start button >> Run...

2. In the window that appears, in the Open field, type regedit (like the registry editor). Then OK to confirm.

3. This opens the registry editor. In the left part of the window, click on the [+] in front of the following entries, in order:
1) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
2) SOFTWARE
3) EA GAMES
4) The Sims 2 (or the expansion you want to change)
Then click on the entry 1.0

4. In the right part of the window, the values of the entry 1.0 are displayed (4 in total). The ones you are interested in are Language and Language Name.

5. First, modify the value Language: double-click on it, which will open a window where you type in Value data the language code (see list of codes/names at the end of the post). For a US game, to get a French version, type 3, without changing anything else. Then click OK

6. Next, do the same for the Language Name value, where you type the name of the language (french in our case), again without changing anything else. It's less important, but might as well be consistent. (see list of codes/names at the end of the post). Then click OK again.

7. Repeat the operation for all expansions for which you want to change the language.

8. When you're done, close the editor by clicking on the cross, and cross your fingers.

List of codes. language names:
1. US English
2. UK English
3. French
4. German
5. Italian
6. Spanish
7. Dutch
8. Danish
9. Swedish
10. Norwegian
11. Finnish
12. Hebrew
13. Russian
14. Portuguese
15. Japanese
16. Polish
17. Traditional Chinese
18. Simplified Chinese
19. Thai
20. Korean
26. Czech

Note that this apparently applies to the US version. Because for me, with the European version, for french, I have the value 2 and not 3. So for the Asian version, it may be different again. (I think it's another version...)
