Hello,

I'm looking to create a cut contour file with Photoshop CS6 to send to the printer for cutting letters out of vinyl.

The final goal is to place a company's logo on their windows. The logo consists of letters and shapes.

Can you help me because I’m currently stuck and unfortunately, I don’t have Illustrator.

Thank you!

The only export you can make vectorially from Photoshop is the path you create with the "pen" tool.

Then go to the "file / Export / Illustrator path" menu... But afterward, the provider will need to adjust the path on the image and give it a color named "CutContour" so that the cutting software can use it.

Photoshop is really not designed for cutting letters and surfaces..

Good evening and thank you for your reply.

I continue my investigations and I wanted to download the trial version of Illustrator but unfortunately the download gets stuck at 42%.

Plan B: is there any free software that could help me create this cutting path file? It seems that Inkscape is capable of doing that, but it's hard to find a tutorial to guide me.

If you have any tips, I would appreciate it.

Thank you for your help, ;)

For the moment, Inkscape does not yet do it natively, and the existing methods are random...

Another suite that might suit you is CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X7.
For much less than the Adobe suite, you get practically the same software... (drawing retouching, photo retouching, a vectorization tool, a new enlargement software, and a website creation tool, not to mention the hundreds of included fonts)

You can download a trial version.
