Spilled solvent on PC

Hello,
I need help urgently, please! I spilled nail polish remover (and not just a little) on my SISTER's laptop (a sister who usually doesn't lend anything because she's afraid we'll break her stuff). So yes, I'm in trouble! I've already dropped my phone in water before, but I removed the battery and put everything to dry in a towel on the radiator. And it worked perfectly! I did the same this time... I turned on the laptop, and the screen absorbed a bit... Like 1/4 of the screen... And the keyboard doesn't work (well, about 10 letters), and barely after it restarted, it began beeping! I got scared and turned everything off and put it back to dry. I don't know what to do, I've been stressing for 30 minutes! Please help me!

Configuration: Mac OS X / Safari 6.0.0.284

    Hello

Do not turn the PC back on, remove the battery, and disassemble it as soon as possible to clean it with a soft cloth and water.

And quickly because the solvent is aggressive on anything plastic.

With water? That still seems like a bad idea.

I think it's better to clean with a damp cloth and let it dry rather than leaving the solvent...

It only seems that way. ;-)

Water is dangerous for electronic and electrical components under voltage because it can cause short circuits. On a device that is not powered, there is no problem.

Finally, you shouldn't go at it with a bucket; you dampen the cloth and gently rub.

Yes, it's better to unplug and remove the battery. Should it still be specified?
At worst, a good bath for the PC ;o)

Good evening. So first piece of bad news: the keyboard is messed up. Besides replacing it, there's nothing you can do. The problem with the liquid, especially if there's a lot, is that it ruins everything. And if there's liquid in the screen too, that's a worry.

Seriously? So I'm really in deep trouble then! :S And how much does it cost to fix this? My god, I'm in bad shape...

Given his username, it must be an HP, but the brand doesn't give much information, we need the reference with.

Pavilion g7... The keyboard is finally working, but the screen has quite a significant stain and the computer is a bit sluggish. I don’t know how much it costs to change a screen, but I think it will need to be repaired.

    Hello,
if the screen no longer works, the solvent has probably damaged the graphics card or motherboard. I'm afraid the solvent has removed some layers from the "heart" of the PC...

Where exactly did the solvent spill?
